LEAF TRADING CARDS PROUDLY LAUNCHES THE MORTAL INSTRUMENTS: CITY OF BONES
COLLECTION BOASTS BEHIND-THE-SCENES CARDS, AUTOGRAPHS FROM MOVIE’S TOP STARS AND FILM-WORN MEMORABILIA CARDS!
CARROLLTON, TX (August 28, 2013) – Hot on the heels of last week’s in-theater premiere of the blockbuster film The Mortal Instruments: City of Bones, Leaf Trading Cards has released a 100-card collection chronicling the movie’s most pivotal scenes, character introductions and even offers autographed and film-worn memorabilia cards featuring oversized swatches from 13 of the film’s key characters!
“We are extremely excited about the unveiling of this exclusive product,” said Brian Gray, President of Leaf Trading Cards. “This film has the most rabid fans I’ve seen in some time and the mall tours had massive attendance beyond my wildest imagination. I know movie fans will be clamoring for these cards.”
Following in the footsteps of the popular Twilight franchise and The Hungers Games, The Mortal Instruments: City of Bones is part of a six-book series written by Cassandra Clare. The movie is set in contemporary New York City where an ordinary teenager, Clary Fray, discovers she is the descendant of a line of “Shadowhunters,” a secret squad of young half-angel warriors locked in an ancient battle to protect our world from demons. Starring Lilly Collins, Jonathan Rhys Meyers, Lena Heady, Jamie Campbell Bower and CCH Pounder, The Mortal Instruments: City of Bones should prove to be one of the young adult category’s most powerful franchises for years to come.
Leaf’s compelling lineup includes a 100-card base set that features 71 different scenes from the movie, along with 13 behind-the-scenes images and 16 character cards. The retail version contains all base cards plus randomly seeded Rune and Tarot inserts, while the limited hobby offering includes the sought-after autographed cards, costume cards with oversized swatches, and some extremely rare signed costume cards!
“Collectors are certain to find an exciting way to relive the film’s memorable moments through one of these two releases,” said Gray.
The retail product (24 packs per box, five cards per pack) is currently on store shelves in both Target and Wal-Mart. To order the retail version online, click here: http://www.leaftradingcards.com/home.php. The more limited hobby release (24 packs per box, six cards per pack) can be found in hobby shops across the country starting on September 8. Every hobby box will boast at least three hits; autographed cards and signed memorabilia cards will fall at an average of two per box.
All of the film’s top stars have both regular autographed cards as well as signed memorabilia (costume) cards in the hobby offering. Even the film’s director, Harald Zwart, and its author, Cassandra Clare, have signed a limited number of cards. Be on the lookout for rare limited edition art versions of the autographed cards!
